About

11th Hour Ventures — The Startup Provisioning Company

You need technical support that resolves what is blocking your company. The standard options for early-stage founders are built around delivering work, giving advice or filling roles. Those incentives do not always line up with the outcome you need.

Who we are

Mission

Diagnose what is blocking early-stage companies, then supply what resolves it: technical leadership, engineers to build the product, or both.

Vision

A new category of startup support, built around the founder’s outcome rather than around delivering work, giving advice or filling roles.

Why “11th Hour”

The eleventh hour is the last moment to act before it is too late. It is often when founders find us: the build has stalled, or the next decision is beyond what they can judge alone. We would rather arrive earlier, when mistakes are cheapest to prevent, but we are built for either.

We built 11HV from our own experience of the founder journey. That experience shapes how we run the company, structure engagements and decide what to ask first. The method we bring to your company is the one we use ourselves.

The system

Two gaps recur across early-stage startups.

Too little technical and strategic leadership when decisions matter most

Fractional Technical Leadership supplies the judgement and direction

Each makes the other harder to resolve.

Technical recruitment that fails to source and integrate the right people

Team Provisioning supplies the people through technical recruitment and integration

We start by identifying what your company needs and the right mechanism to resolve it. Sometimes that is leadership. Other times it is talent. Often it is the sequence between the two.

If we cannot resolve it, we do not charge.

Top, the agency route: founder, requirements, agency, a black box of shared builds, and a product tagged demo grade, technical debt and not scalable. Bottom, 11th Hour: the founder works with a fractional lead who provides a roadmap, requirements, build blueprint, scaling cost forecast and a DevOps and team plan, leading to a working product, forecast costs, DevOps in place, a team and reduced technical debt: a startup the founder can run.

Our principles

  1. Diagnose first

Every engagement opens with diagnosis. Before we start work or source a candidate, we identify what is blocking you. The problem determines the structure of the engagement.

  2. Work alongside you

We work alongside you to shape the product, make technical decisions and structure hiring.

  3. Measure against the problem

Progress is measured against the problems identified in diagnosis.

  4. Hand over

We hand over so your team, or the team we build, owns the work that needed external leadership.

Become an operating partner

The needs of a technology startup extend beyond our two service lines. We are expanding a bench of operating partners across technical leadership, product, go-to-market, finance, operations and people.

Our aim is to widen what we can provision through senior practitioners who diagnose the problem, work alongside you and remain accountable to outcomes.

If you operate at a senior level in any of these areas, we want to hear from you:

  • Technical leadershipCTO, VP Engineering, Head of Product
  • Go-to-market and commercialCMO, Head of Growth
  • Finance and operationsCFO, Financial Controller, Head of Finance
  • Product strategy and design
  • Technical recruiter

We are not a job board. We aim to create a network of practitioners who want to work with founders and solve problems in startups, under a structure that holds the work to a standard.

Two solid gears labelled Technical and Product, both marked in place, turn together while dashed gears for People, Operations, Marketing, GTM and Finance join around them.
